Torr 17th was a fairly distant cousin of and adopted son of Lalandra IX, and descended from a first cousin of Curzon Gorr. He was also a member of the Imperial Council. He was elected by the Council in Year 8566 at the age of 112. He abdicated in Year 8900 from the position of Imperial Sovereign.
Two of his own biological daughters, Lalandra 10th and Lalandra 11th, would both be elected Sovereign of the New Shi'ar Imperium.
